INSTRUMENTATION
iCONa lab
has the following instrumentation:
- Mass spectrometer for isotopic abundance measurements IRMS - Delta V Advantage (Thermo Fisher), equipped with Dual Inlet System, a system for the multiple introduction of gaseous samples.
- EA-1112 Series Elemental Flash Analyzer (Thermo Fisher), peripheral for the combustion of solid samples, for measurements of δ¹³C and δ¹⁵N and of concentrations C and N.
- Thermo Chemical Elemental Analyzer TC / EA (Thermo Fisher), peripheral for high temperature pyrolysis of organic and inorganic samples, for δ¹⁸O measurements.
- Gas Chromatograph GC Isolink (Thermo Fisher), for measuring δ¹³C of specific molecules in organic matrices.
- Interface system Conflo IV (Thermo Fisher) of the various peripherals with the IRMS.
Furthermore, the laboratory is equipped with a sample preparation line for radiocarbon dating.
